Pronouns might seem like pretty straightforward business, but there are actually several different kinds that we hardly realize we use. We’ll be covering all of them here. The most basic ones you need to know are subject pronouns: the words like Iyou, he/shewe, etc. We use those when the pronoun is the subject of a sentence. When the pronoun serves as the object of a sentence, we use a set of direct or indirect object pronouns, like mehimus, etc. There are possessive pronouns for talking about who something belongs to, like mine and yours, and demonstrative pronouns, to point things out with words like this or that. Finally, we’ll talk about what pronouns to use with prepositions.
